My dear girls,
In reading Genesis, chapters 15-17, and Luke 6, I get the feeling that God is near. He was with Abraham and promised to give him an expansive family. “This is my covenant with you: I will make you the father of a multitude of nations!” (Genesis 17:4).
In Luke, Jesus coaches, those who will listen, on daily conduct. “Love your enemies,” (6:27); “do for others as you would like them to do for you,” (6:31); “you must be compassionate just as your Father is compassionate,” (6:36).
Why do we try to live our lives and understand things in our own strength? God is so close—He sees our hard times and our good deeds. He is aware of our obedience and disobedience. When I forgive, He forgives. When I am generous, He is also generous.
Pray with me, “Dear God, help me to walk in obedience, generosity, forgiveness, compassion, and humility. I want all that you have for me. Amen.”
with love, Mom
