“Work for six days, and rest on the seventh…it will allow the people of your household to be refreshed.” Exodus 23:12
My dear girls,
God doesn’t require His people to work themselves into the ground—promising more strength later. He says we will be refreshed when we rest; that is an order.
When will you have a day for rest? Maybe it doesn’t have to be Sunday. If your Sunday is filled with church activities, Saturday might be a better time to enjoy family, not to get groceries or mop the kitchen.
Pray with me, “Dear Father, I’ve been working myself mercilessly hoping somebody would notice and applaud. But it doesn’t happen; I just end up doing more work. Help me to take time out to get refreshed. Amen.”
