“Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Genesis 22:2

My dear girls,

Is there an area of your life right now, where you need God to come to the rescue?

God asked Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice–the one through whom many descendants were promised. Abraham knew that God would save the day; maybe bring Isaac back to life (Hebrews 11:19). God provided a ram instead. In his limited thinking, Abraham could only imagine God working with what was there–Isaac. However, God made something out of nothing–the ram in the thicket.

Many times I have needed provision. From my limited perspective, I’ve tried to figure out how God can keep His promises to supply, with what’s in front of me. He usually has other ideas.

Pray with me, “Dear God, help me to trust in Your creative power to bring something out of nothing. I don’t want to limit You by relying only on what I can see. You are too awesome to be limited to what I can imagine. Amen.”

with love, Mom
